Heavy Metal Rider
"Caution! A motorcyclist was seen driving at a speed of 340 miles per hour on multi-lane portion of the highway a few minutes ago. Please go to the nearest parking lot and wait there until the fire department has cleared the trail of fire!" A traffic report on the radio might sound something like this while you are playing this game. Heavy Metal Rider delivers what it promises: Sweeping action combined with a rapid reaction speed and a nice chunk of risk-taking. In Heavy Metal Rider, you will venture out onto a multilane highway section that you have to leave behind during the given time using the arrow keys or your mouse. If you survive the ride in Heavy Metal Rider with all of your body left intact, the next track with a new difficulty level will be unlocked for you. If you should be running out of time, you can activate the nitro accelerator as a last resort by hitting spacebar or double clicking the left mouse button. In front of the backdrop of magnificent VGA graphics, you can steer your motorcycle through the traffic that is trickling in front of you and collect whopping points in the form of coins for your high-score points. However, to make your stay as unpleasant as possible, the drivers will suddenly change lanes temporarily and will leave oil stains on top of that, which will send you into an almost uncontrollable skid. How much the individual effects affect the driving behavior of your two-wheeler depends on your personal configuration of your companion that is beaming with energy. You can distribute a total of ten skill points prior to the start of the race amongst the three ride elements - control, speed and acceleration. How do you distribute the skill points is left completely up to your driving experience. However, if you do not want to fly through the rear window of a car, you should carry out the scoring with caution.
